Now I know what some of you may be thinking, “How can I possibly have the 'right' attitude with all of the scams online?” I totally understand that feeling. I have run into my fair share of scammers and charlatans on the internet. They make it harder on everyone; customers as well as legitimate online marketers. Yes, there are legitimate online marketers. I'm sure you've seen some of the same names repeatedly on the internet. The reason for that is because they are truly making a living with online marketing. You can, too.
Running into online scams can be disheartening. However, I decided to write this article because I've been discouraged on many occasions because of it, but I didn't let it stop me from pursuing my dream of running an online business. I'm sure many think that it's easier said than done; so I'll explain.
I knew that making money online was a real possibility. The reason I became discouraged over the years is not because it's impossible, but because I could not find any help, or good advice on how to market on the internet. I came to understand that there are “secrets” to online success and those who knew the secrets were not sharing this information with the rest of us. But I have faith in the goodness of mankind and knew that somewhere out there on the world-wide-web, was someone who would be more than happy to offer truly good advice on what does and does not work with internet marketing. I just needed to keep that faith going long enough to find it.
If online scams have left you jaded, I would like to make a few suggestions about what you can do to change your attitude about making money online.
Join a marketing forum. They're free to join and most have a no spam policy, so you won't have to worry about people trying to sell you anything. You can just read what others have to say about this business and ask questions. Members will be happy to share their knowledge and testimonies with you. You can get some valuable information on forums.
Read offers in their entirety. If you find something that you think may be just the thing you need to get started making money online, understand everything you can about the program before purchasing. (I'll dig deeper into this one in a future article)
Try programs that ask for very little money upfront. Affiliate programs are a great way to start making money online. It should cost you very little to begin with these programs and many of them are free.
Ask questions. You may still have some concerns, so before making any type of commitment contact them on the link provided on their site which is either “contact us” or “live chat and help”.
Check their response time. Pay attention to how long you had to wait for an answer to your question. Slow response is a tell-tale sign that you may not get the help you need when you need it after becoming an affiliate.
Following these tips can show you how truly legitimate internet marketing is. I hope this will help to change the perception about online selling. The scam artists don't define this business, the legitimate marketers do.
